Saving For Ireland (June 24 – August 4
I am the only child, and will be the first in my generation to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Photojournalism at Ohio University. I will also be first in my family to pursue a career in Multimedia and Video Production. Please help support my future career by allowing me to participate in the Documentary Storytelling and Production Program in Ireland in the summer of 2012.
I spent four years as a full-time student at Tidewater Community College and worked part-time to support my mother. Last year, I transferred to Ohio University to obtain my bachelor degree. With little real-world experience in journalism, I feel I need to have an accelerated and deeper understanding of storytelling, which I can gain through the study abroad program. The program will mimic documentary multimedia projects like MediaStorm and Mercury News. The six-week course, June 24 – August 4, will focus on the Irish history and culture with an emphasis in video production.
Any donations from $1.00 will help greatly. Donations of higher payment will be rewarded with a photograph or greeting cards. Once my trip is over, donors will have the opportunity to pick their favorite photograph from the trip and will be deliver by mail.

My hope for the future is to work with organizations like TOMS and Charity Water in visual storytelling. I also want to work on projects focusing on minorities, especially the Asian American communities on education and health. Please help me to become a role model, educator and a professional.
